Main Chimps

We are a high energy interactive music session for 0-4 year olds with lots of dancing and lots of laughs. We use lots of wonderful colourful props at our sessions including the parachute every week and of course lots of bubbles. Adults get to enjoy a slice of homemade cake or tiffin plus a hot drink. No sign up, just easy weekly booking.

Baby Chimps

For our baby session, we offer a calmer and quieter environment, designed especially for babies to enjoy colourful sensory props, while adults can enjoy their refreshments. Somewhere to meet others in the early days of parenthood. Our baby session is designed for newborns to confident walkers.

Community Driven

Cha Char Chimps is a registered community interest company. We roll surplus profit back into the local community.

We receive funding and grants to deliver projects for Children’s Centres, Pre-Schools and Fund-raising events. In addition, your paid attendance at our weekly music shows supports these good causes

I’ve been going to chimps since my daughter was 3 months old, she’s nearly 4 now! We love it, she gets to run around, dance, sing and play and I get a cup of tea and a piece of cake! Perfect! My little one is a bit anti social 😂 It takes her a while to come round to new people. However she loves baby chimps! She doesn’t cling onto me whatsoever and off doing her own thing! The sensory changes each week so they don’t get bored! Ria & Gemma are also so lovely and make you feel so welcome, and it’s nice that they know each child’s name every week.

First time attending chimps babies today and i felt a bit anxious as i was alone but within walking through the door i was no longer alone, greeted by Ria and Gemma with a warm friendly smile and i was put at ease immediately. Such a friendly bunch of mums, too. The class itself was wonderful, and Ria was just amazing, interacting with my little boy and all the little ones. Throw in coffee and Cake and i was Sold. We will be back next week for sure ⭐️⭐️

Personal Bio

We’re sisters Gemma and Ria. I have three children (well one is in her 20’s so not a child anymore) I worked as a hair stylist and as a nursery assistant before starting chimps. Ria has three children, her eldest was only 15 months when her twins were born. She worked as a pediatric specialist nurse at Stoke Mandeville hospital before having children. Then as a community peds nurse afterwards. We grow up in South East London, but moved to Bedfordshire in our 20’s.
